Matthew 9:17 Neither do men put new wine into old wineskins KEYS

Here is another innovation in the KJV Bible. The word Bottle replaces Wineskin through the gospels of Matthew and Mark.

Now it reads:

Matthew 9:17   Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.


A bottle is rigid. This verse doesn't make sense anymore. The leather of the wineskin interacts with the wine which can deform and break it open.
Soma argue that bottle has the same root as wineskin, but this is a modern word first of, ans secondly in french the word is now "vaisseau", or vessel in the Martin Bible. It points to a solid recipient, like an amphora for instance, used to store wine.
So the bottle of clay could not break because of the wine inside.

As a symbol, the bottle is burnt clay, a dead material which Jesus Christ will smite with his rod of iron at his second coming:


Revelation 2:27   And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.

The vessels described in Revelation are the unfaithful nations, the goat nations, the dead nations.
They are not destined to receive the wine described in Matthew 9.

The leather of the wineskin is a "living material", as opposed to the clay burnt up in the furnace. The leather works together with the wine, exchanges happen. The wine is a form of the Word of God, the one that "rejoices the heart" as said David, working together with bread and oil (see my article on bread wine and oil HERE).

So Jesus Christ talks about two different wineskins ans two different wines. Two Nations, two words. The older nation would not have supported the new wine.
Israel and the Gentiles, Old Testament and New Testament.

The same concept in the Old Testament:

Leviticus 6:
24   And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
25   Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, saying, This is the law of the sin offering: In the place where the burnt offering is killed shall the sin offering be killed before the LORD: it is most holy.
26   The priest that offereth it for sin shall eat it: in the holy place shall it be eaten, in the court of the tabernacle of the congregation.
27   Whatsoever shall touch the flesh thereof shall be holy: and when there is sprinkled of the blood thereof upon any garment, thou shalt wash that whereon it was sprinkled in the holy place.
28   But the earthen vessel wherein it is sodden shall be broken: and if it be sodden in a brasen pot, it shall be both scoured, and rinsed in water.

The sin offering is Jesus Christ, his blood sprinkles our garments and purifies us:

Revelation 7:14   And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

The clay (earthen) vessel destined to be broken, is former Israel, which will make space for the Gentiles, the Jews by adoption, grafted on the olive tree; the brasen, bronze pot.
The rinsing water is the Baptism.

In this variation around the key of the vessel, the clay/earth is not opposed to leather but to metal.

The keys are not literal translators, word by word, but language elements that facilitate the understanding of the Scriptures under the authority of the Holy Spirit:

Leather is a living material as opposed to terracotta, it bends, stretches, takes back its shape, and most important characteristic, it makes the wine breathe.
Metal, as opposed to burnt clay, doesn't break under the rod of iron, but deforms, gets forged and sharpened as the blacksmith forges the metal heated to white:

Proverbs 13:24   He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

Christians are called to become the sons of God:
Jesus Christ wants nobody to perish, so will he chasten everyone, goats and sheeps. Goats will break under the iron rod, sheep will let themselves be forged.

Beware, bronze can be corroded, so let's buy refined gold to the One who lives for ever and ever.

Addendum 30/09/2019:
The verse Leviticus 6:27 quoted above has changed. The blood sprinkling used to sanctify the garments. Now this verse makes no spiritual sense.
Also to be more precise I should say that the clay vessels would be the earthly Israel, as the brasen vessels would be the spiritual posterity of Israel, the inner Jews.
